Three years ago this vendor tried his luck on avenue A for a couple of nights . He did not do well and never returned to the avenue again to vend his products .

Today as lease values rise to levels that no small business other than a bar , a wine-bar , an expensive restaurant with a bar or a retail bank can afford it seems likely that many small neighborhood businesses will of necessity also be looking to operate from push-carts or other mobile property . This guy was just ahead of his time .
